Lance Van Zant, branch manager of Clark Pest Control’s Auburn office, says that cockroaches prefer 85 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit, but as temperatures remain high, cockroaches will start seeking shelter inside homes and structures in search of moisture.

One of the more prolific nuisance pests that Californians deal with is the Argentine ant. This pesky invasive ant species most likely arrived in the United States on coffee ships in the late 1890s. Today, it’s a commonly found pest across the western United States.
