A whole-home approach to pest and termite control

Sep 2, 2022, 14:14 PM by Fred Speer

The hot and dry conditions that California has experienced this summer are altering the behavior of pests. Pest activity has seen an uptick across the board, and that includes drywood termites.

Drywood termites like to swarm when temperatures reach 90 degrees, and those conditions have been present since spring. How hot has it been? Los Angeles recorded a 97-degree Fahrenheit reading in early April, and the heat continues as we approach the Labor Day holiday.

These cryptic pests, which are widely dispersed and can take years to mature, live deep inside wood, and except during periods when they swarm or when repair work is being done on infested homes, they are seldom seen. That makes the need for a professional termite inspection paramount.

A complete home wellness inspection

A backed-up gutter or over-watered wood siding is a prime attractant for drywood termites, and they can be difficult to detect once they have established an infestation. One of the more common infestation points for drywood termites is found on the exterior of a home where seams meet on wood. These points can often get overlooked.

To better protect homes from termites and other pests, Clark Pest Control is taking the idea of a traditional termite inspections a step further by offering home wellness inspections for new existing customers. The wellness inspection covers not only termites (drywood and subterranean) but also rodent entry points and the health of the insulation in your home.

Clark, your friendly pest control, termite, mosquito, and lawn care expert, knows that our customers hire Clark to be their pest control company, not just their termite or ant control company. The Clark home wellness inspection offers an additional layer of protection against all types of pests.

Our fully licensed inspectors will perform a thorough inspection of your home, and will provide a written report of the findings. If pests or conditions conducive to pests (wood in contact with soil, openings in the foundation or on the roof that would allow rodent entry, etc.) are found, Clark will make treatment and/or repair recommendations.

Customers are in complete control of what they do with the recommendations, and Clark has financing available should the recommendations require more extensive solutions, such as a whole-house termite treatment, wood repairs, or insulation replacement.

For maximum protection against termites, be sure to ask about Clark Pest Control’s exclusive Termite Infestation Protection (T.I.P.) program, which is designed to cover your home from future infestations and damages caused by all species of termites.
