Some residents at a local apartment complex on Goldbar Court are at wits end with what they call a bed bug infestation.

The almost invisible insects are causing tenants to lose their sleep and sanity.

It's so bad, one woman says she was forced to move out and leave almost everything her family owns behind.

"Albums, clothing, furniture, my kids don't have those no more. I literally had to leave with the clothes on my back," said Erica Malone, a single mother of three.

Malone feels fortunate that she was able to break her lease and escape the situation.

She says she didn't know what had been causing she and her young sons such discomfort until they went to the doctor's.

According to Malone, she tried to work it out with the landlord and got nowhere.

"They told me they would fix it numerous times but never did," added Malone. "When you're running a facility, you're suppose to make sure that your tenants are in good health. that is not true."
