Add to the protective shield around your home with insulation

Nov 25, 2020, 14:24 PM by Fred Speer

How are many homeowners coping with stay-at-home orders, and substituting staycations for vacations? In record numbers, they’re Google-searching ideas for home improvement projects and contractors.

According to Porch.com, an online marketplace that connects homeowners to contractors, there were 330 million U.S. Google searches for home improvement work over the summer — a nearly 50 percent increase from the same period last year.

These people are not only searching for ideas, but they’re pulling the trigger on projects at a consistent clip. The Porch.com survey also revealed that three out of four homeowners have completed a major renovation project since the start of the pandemic.

How can Clark, your neighborly pest, termite, and grounds care expert, help you with your own home improvements?

In addition to decades of experience protecting homes and businesses from annoying and potentially destructive pests, Clark Pest Control is also a licensed C-2 insulation and acoustical contractor in the state of California (CA license # 922758).

This means that Clark can provide you with another layer of protection and greater peace of mind for your biggest investment, your home.

Research shows properly installed insulation can save you money on your energy bills, keeping your home cooler in summer and warmer in winter. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program, you typically can save up to $200 a year in heating and cooling costs by air-sealing your homes and adding insulation.

Not having the recommended amount of insulation in your attic is like burning money. The amount by which insulation slows the flow of heat is measured in Resistance-value, or R-value. The greater the R-value, the better the general performance of the insulation.

Clark Pest Control’s highly trained inspectors will provide you with a comprehensive assessment of your home’s insulation. This assessment will identify potential weak spots in a home’s insulation shield that could cost you money or create pest-conducive conditions.

The assessment includes:

  • An evaluation of your home’s current insulation, if your home has enough insulation, and if there are hidden moisture problems
  • A determination of the R-value of your home’s insulation

  • Identification of potential pest access points in your attic where roof rats and other pests could gain entry

The Clark process of removing old and possibly contaminated insulation and replacing it with a new, more efficient product is clean and quick. Adding insulation that meets or exceeds modern building codes will reduce wear and tear on your HVAC system and lower your home’s carbon footprint. Clark also offers financing options through our GreenSky program.

If a rodent issue is detected during the process of removing and replacing the insulation, Clark’s rodent management experts will conduct a comprehensive home inspection and provide a detailed written report of their findings. Then, Clark will use the latest rodent management technologies to eliminate the threat and seal entry points to prevent future infestations.

Clark Pest Control remains committed to safeguarding your home from pests during these challenging times. Our service technicians use such personal protective equipment as gloves, masks, and respirators, they practice social distancing, they call ahead to notify you before a service, and they adhere strictly to all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines when servicing inside or outside your home.
