Clark Pest Control Receives IPM Innovator Award

For Efforts to RevolutionizE the Integrated Pest Management Industry

California Department of Pesticide Regulation Recognizes Local Company's

Leadership with Distinguished Award

LODI, Calif. (March 24, 2010) - Clark Pest Control, a family owned and operated company headquartered in Lodi, is receiving the distinguished Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Innovator Award from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR).  This award is given to organizations that develop and promote methods of natural pest control that reduce the risks associated with using traditional chemical pesticides.

IPM - Integrated Pest Management - refers to an environmentally sensitive approach to pest management with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.  Through IPM, the companies and their technicians first conduct an evaluation of the site to determine the specific problems and treatments needed.  Whenever possible, a non-chemical strategy is used. This practice is commonly used by professionals throughout the industry.

"IPM Innovators are role models for change from traditional pest control to strategies that reduce or eliminate toxic pesticides," said DPR Director Mary-Ann Warmerdam. "One of our missions is to encourage through recognition the use of pest control methods that are more protective of public health and the environment. We especially applaud Clark Pest Control for its efforts to find a replacement for pyrethroid pesticides for residential pest control."

Clark Pest Control, the West's largest pest control company, has always strived to be on the cutting edge of the industry and is dependent on non-chemical treatments in its pest management.  The company currently has a large-scale IPM program in which each of its technicians performs a site evaluation and a customized service plan, which reduces the overall use of pesticides.  Clark expects to have the entire company performing this service within three years.

In addition, Clark helped to develop GreenPro, a national certification program for the pest management industry, and was one of the first companies in California and nationwide to become certified.  In fact, Clark Pest Control has more GreenPro certified technicians than any other pest management company in the country.

For these and many other reasons, Clark Pest Control is one of eight organizations receiving DPR's IPM Innovator Award this year.  An official award ceremony is being held on March 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) Headquarters Building at 1001 I Street in Sacramento (in the Sierra Hearing Room).  Following the ceremony, there will be a photo opportunity in the Redwood tree area near the entrance to the building.

2012 Bed Bug Conference Rohnert Park

DON’T LET THE BED BUGS BITE

YOUR BOTTOM LINE!

Managers Can Register Now for FREE Bed Bug Educational Training Hosted by Clark Pest Control

LODI, Calif. (January 11, 2012) – It’s no secret that bed bugs are still everywhere – in apartments, houses and hotels, college dormitories, hospitals, offices, retail stores, public transportation, laundromats and even movie theaters.  And since a majority of industry professionals consider bed bugs to be THE most difficult pest to treat (NPMA, 2010), Clark Pest Control is coming to Rohnert Park to help educate these facility managers with a free one-day seminar called “Bed Bugs: Know The Truth.”

The “Bed Bugs: Know The Truth” event in Rohnert Park will be held on Wednesday, February 1st from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Doubletree Rohnert Park (One Doubletree Dr., Rohnert Park).  Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Only 100 spots are available for anyone who manages a facility or property where bed bugs could be a problem in and around the following areas -- Santa Rosa, Vacaville, Napa/Sonoma, Fairfield, San Rafael, Bodega Bay, Vallejo, Novato, Petaluma and Davis.

“Our goal is to educate the people in charge of facilities that most commonly get infestations so they are prepared to make smart and timely decisions if and when they are faced with having to identify and fight bed bugs,” said Robert Baker, operations manager, Clark Pest Control.

The event will provide guests answers to many common myths about bed bugs, such as whether or not they transmit diseases and are a sign of poor sanitation, and if you can see them with the naked eye.  Experts will also educate guests on the newest ways to detect and control bed bugs, as well as how a bed bug infestation can affect a business’ bottom line.  Speakers include Jim Fredricks from the National Pest Management Association, Gail Getty from the UC Extension, and Jeff Lipman of the Lipman Law Firm that deals with bed bug litigation and other industry experts.

Anyone interested in registering for the Rohnert Park “Bed Bugs: Know The Truth” event may call 877-918-9988 or email salesteam@clarkpest.com.

The “Bed Bugs: Know The Truth” events will also be held in San Mateo on February 2nd and in San Diego on February 3rd
