Physical Characteristics
The adult Earwig is about 1/41 long and has an elongated body. In color, the Earwig is pale brown with dark markings to reddish brown to black with forceplike pincer. Earwig - Call Clark Pest Control

Behavior
The Earwig gets its name from an old European superstition that the insect would enter the ear and bore its way into the brain. Earwigs are nocturnal, during the day they hide in moist, shady places such as; under stones, logs, or even mulch.

Earwigs feed on living or dead plants and or insects and will occasionally damage vegetables, flowers, fruit, shrubs and trees.
