Good job!

It is interesting that the roots of wood destroying pests and organisms control come from the need to address earthquake hazards.

In March 1933 a 6.4 earthquake hit Long Beach killing "over 120 people and caused property losses estimated at $50 million (1933) dollars".

A significant percentage of the structures which collapsed had extensive termite (and other wood destroying pests and organisms) damage which was attributed to why they collapsed while neighboring structures with the same construction did not.

As a result consumers began requesting pest control companies to provide wood destroying organisms specific services, and banks began the practice of requiring wood destroying pests and organisms inspections before they would lend money to purchase a structure.
